Liminal
The Medical Blockchain
Liminal was created around a problem that is both personal and technical. Medical history often lives across disconnected systems, leaving patients with limited control over how their information moves between providers. The Liminal app would help users control and share their medical history with blockchain security.
Approach
Pre-rendered 3D model vs the final render.
The identity needed to live in a threshold space, which made the name Liminal especially important to the visual direction. The mark leans into recognizable symbology of both the medical and tech industries.
The 3D forms were created in Blender using depth and repetition to suggest secure pathways, protected data, and the controlled exchange of information between patient and physician. Built from simple arrays, the plus mark became a recurring structural element, while frosted-glass textures, subsurface scattering, and controlled lighting gave the visuals a soft technical quality.
